I first met Caitlyn a little over a year ago at her Cousin Kayleigh and Michael Ferland’s wedding (see the blog post her: http://www.markwillisphotography.ca/kayleigh-and-michael-virden-manitoba-wedding) in Virden Manitoba. I am told Brett was there, but I didn’t meet him at the time! Roughly a year later I was flying over to Canmore Alberta to meet with Caitlyn and Brett!
Their session wasn’t as typical as most engagement shoots that I do! These 2 were totally willing to go along with my crazy ideas and hit the road bright and early to see the sunrise at Moraine Lake. I was staying in Calgary, so it meant the alarm was going off at about 2:20am to wake up, and I was on the road at about 3:15am!
I picked Caitlyn and Brett up around 4:30am, and we were on the road to Moraine Lake, trying to beat the crazy tourist, and watch the sun hit the mountain tops!
We made it long before the sun came up, but the parking lot had only like 3 spots left, so I guess we lucked out a bit.
We took the hike to the view point of the lake, and then detoured to a spot that kept most of the tourists out of our view, and had an even more amazing view of the lake. It was a brisk morning to say the least. That cold mountain air blew across Moraine Lake, but Caitlyn and Brett toughed it out despite the cold, and having hundreds of tourists watching them get their photos taken haha!
Thank you guys so much for having me out to your Mountain paradise! Thank you for getting up so early, trusting my visions and fighting the cold to to get these amazing shots. I am so excited for the wedding next year! You guys rock!
