Well it’s been about a year since I’ve taken the time to do a photo blog post, so I figured I would try getting back into it with this amazing wedding from Canmore Alberta with Caitlyn and Brett.
You might remember this couple from their engagement shoot which I blogged a couple years ago that took place at the iconic Moraine Lake in Alberta (check it out here ), but if not make sure you check that post out too.
Caitlyn and Brett’s wedding was initially planned to take place in Olds Alberta back in 2020, but along came Covid and like it did for many other couples, cause a few postponements.
Brett is a professional hockey player so one would think that planning a July wedding would be pretty safe as its the off season. Well Covid has a way of messing with plans, so with the NHL playoffs dipping into July things were still potentially a little scary for this wedding. Let’s be honest though, and I hope Brett doesn’t take this the wrong way… no one, except maybe the die hard fans, would have expected the Montreal Canadians to make it deep enough into the playoffs to still be playing hockey in July… even with the extended Covid season. Well low and behold, Montreal (after nearly being eliminated in the first round to Toronto) went the distance all the way to the Stanley Cup finals. Soooo with some semi short notice adjustments, the Kulak wedding changed dates once again from July 2nd, to the 14th, allowing Brett to make it home just a few days prior to the wedding day. LOL
Their wedding day took place at one of the nicest hotels in Canmore, The Malcolm Hotel which has some amazing view of the 3 Sister’s mountains.
The wedding day kicked off with an early morning round of golf for the guys, and then back to the Malcolm for getting ready photos. The smoke from the Alberta/BC wild fires of course had to roll in that day and disrupt our mountain views, but still the day was beautiful.
After the ceremony, we loaded up and headed to Lake Minnawanka for some photos before heading back to the beautiful hotel for the reception. To cap the night we headed to the Silvertip Golf course for some amazing smokey mountain sky sunset shots.
Thanks so much for having me capture this amazing wedding day. And thanks to Christy from Beyond the Proposal wedding planning for doing such an amazing job with this awesome wedding. And only giving me a little bit of shit for keeping them away so long at sunset 🙂
