Another amazing photography year has come and gone! I have to say while they have all been great, 2018 was definitely one of my favourites.
We travelled all over Manitoba, and I was fortunate enough to be able to travel a bit outside of the province as well. We stopped in Calgary, Canmore, and the beautiful Punta Cana Dominican Republic for an awesome destination wedding. We even climbed a freakin’ Mountain (Grizzly Peak) to take photos of an Elopement. If you have never climbed a Mountain, add it to your bucket list. It’s an amazing, humbling experience.
I worked with so many amazing vendors, and shot weddings and engagements in some pretty cool venues. Some of my favourite wedding venues of the year were The Lakehouse in Clear Lake (always a winner in my eyes), Hawthorne Estates in East Selkirk, The Rustic Wedding barn in Steinbach, and the always gorgeous Prairie firehouse in Brandon.
My photography year was full of laughs, good times, challenging moments, hot sunny days, windy/rainy days, and shoots that were so cold that I couldn’t feel my fingers. There was likely a couple tears in there as well.
I learned something new at every shoot. I tried (cautiously) to get slightly out of my comfort zone at each shoot, so I could learn to be better for the next.
2019 is going to be a kick ass year. It’s already booked solid with amazing couples. The wedding season kicks off in just a few short weeks in Montego Bay Jamaica for a gorgeous destination wedding. Then in the spring, me and Melissa from Sugar and Soul Photography are hosting an amazing Photography Workshop (https://www.perceiveworkshop.com/) to get everyone fired up and ready to step up their photography game before the wedding season starts up.
THANK YOU to all those couples who trusted me in 2018 to capture such an important day in your life.
Thanks to all of those people who helped with the wedding season… Wedding planners, DJ’s, MC’s, Decorators, caterers, Hair and Makeup ladies, Videographers (sort of haha) for helping make my job a little bit better than it already is. I also can’t forget to thank Dani P (my assistant/second shooter) for sacrificing so many Saturdays to keep me in line, and catch those moments that I can’t get by myself.
Here’s to another year of Gettin’ the shots.
Enjoy a little throwback containing a small amount of my favourite shots from 2018.
