While the cold Polar Vortex hit a large portion of Canada and the Northern US (below -50 Celsius with the Windchill), we narrowly slipped away to Montego Bay  Jamaica for M&E’s destination wedding at the beautiful Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall. The resort was great, not too big, not too small, and the staff was amazing. I’ve a been to a fair few all inclusive resorts, but the staff here seemed to really go out of there way to make sure everyone was having a good time. Plus, if there is a cart with cold coconuts strolling around, I am in for sure.

The day before the wedding we ended up with about 20 hours of absolute downpour, but luckily by the wedding day rain let up slightly, just enough to get us outdoors for some photos. Unfortunately the rain was just a bit too unpredictable on the day of the wedding to allow for the planned outdoor ceremony and reception, however the resort gave us some pretty nice indoor backup locations, so all was great in the end.

A steel drum band entertained the guests during part of the reception!

The day after the wedding we ventured out to the Rose Hall Great house for a day after photo session. The old mansion was built in the 1770’s, and has amazing view of the Ocean from the 3rd floor balcony. The creaky wooden floors, stairs, and all the architecture was just amazing. An awesome location for photos!
As the evening got dark, the building was lit with red lights, and glass bottle torches were lit to make the building spooky to go along with an old murder story that apparently happened there several years ago! A bit creepy, but also pretty cool.

Tourists started to flood in the for haunted house night tour, so we had to dodge around them a little bit!

Thank you M&E for bringing us along on for your awesome wedding, and this cool Jamaican adventure. Jamaica is truly one of my favourite places, so I was excited to be apart of this journey!

All the best!
