A couple of weeks ago I was a part of a real elopement style wedding giveaway at a beautiful venue about 30 minutes outside of Brandon Manitoba. With covid 19 hammering much of the wedding industry this year, the thought was to come together with several awesome vendors and give one lucky couple a dream wedding!
Natasha and Lyle (from Boissevain Manitoba) were the luck winners of the giveaway. Honestly as far a photography goes, they were a dream couple to shoot, and their fun, playfulness made my job as the photographer pretty damn easy!
Normally by the time a wedding occurs, I have met with my couples a few times… in person consults, or facetime chats, engagement photos, and location scouting are all part of the normal process I have in place to get to know my clients, and gain their trust as a friend more than a person following them around with cameras all day. This wedding was a bit different seeing as though the winning couple was only selected about a month or so before the wedding, and in the midst of the pandemic I was only able to chat with Natasha and Lyle once via FaceTime. Regardless, they were a breeze to work with!
This wedding didn’t follow a traditional timeline, rather a unique to the area schedule that was actually a lot of fun, and seemed to make the day fly by!
After the couple had a first look at 7:00pm, we headed to the ceremony which was at 8:15pm, followed by the first dance at 9:30, and a late evening dinner at around 9:45pm overlooking the valley at sunset!
Ruth (the owner of Valley Gate, and enchanted moment Couture) had the venue looking stunning. Leann from Bridal Bliss weddings married the couple, and as always Bryan from Expressions entertainment had the small crown smiling and laughing the entire time. Rhoni and Silas from Trident caught some amazing video footage for the couple!
Of course as always my good friend Jill (@colorsbyjill) had the Bride looking stunning!
